Entrepreneurs Need A Break Too

I took a little break and had a few days in New York this week. I am so glad I did,  walking for miles each day sightseeing  was both exhausting and exhilarating. The old saying “a change is as good as a rest” is certainly true. I already feel mentally restored and less concerned about things that were bothering me before I left.
I have been working to develop my business since I gave up my day job a year ago. It hasn’t gone exactly to plan and it can be little daunting navigating all of the responsibilities and challenges of going it alone. It is easy to feel that we shouldn’t take a vacation when we work for ourselves, though it is important to take a break whatever our circumstances.  We have to make the best of our situation,  if that means doing something for just one day or even one hour, it will make you feel better.
I’m going to commit to take time out to refresh and renew myself on a regular basis and I encourage you to join me. I’m going to walk on the beach, read some fiction, ride my bike, plant some flowers and anything else that feels good for my soul. It doesn’t have to cost a lot. I can meet my friends for lunch and it still feels like a treat.

Let’s take a moment for ourselves this week, take in a beautiful view, listen to some music, walk a dog, whatever takes your fancy. Our time is a precious resource that we can never get back, we will never regret spending some of it on things that make us feel good.
